Nanoblading
Nanoblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo technique that uses a fine nano needle. The purpose of nanoblading differs depending on whether a makeup technician performs the treatment on your eyebrows or your lips.
Nanoblading for eyebrows fills in scarce, thin eyebrows for a thicker appearance. The procedure involves the use of pigmented ink and a super fine needle to create hair-like tattoo strokes. These strokes look like natural hair. This technique thinkens the appearance of eyebrows and can change the shape of your brows!
“I didn’t even realize nano brows were an option, but the idea of not having to draw on eyebrows with make up each day intrigued me. Let me start by saying I was incredibly nervous going into this! April was knowledgeable about the process and even explained the tools & the different inks used. She was accessible when I had questions and even jokingly promised not to tattoo a unibrow on my face! The day of the appointment April patiently worked with me to determine the exact mapping out I was comfortable with, even though it took forever, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. My brows look so natural, I get compliments all the time, and there’s nothing like waking up in the morning & seeing gorgeous brows in the mirror!”
“My ‘first tattoo‘, as my husband sweetly refers to it, was on my face with nanobladed eyebrows by April. After seeing some before and after photos from April and talking with her about what I wanted, it was very clear that she would do an excellent job. April is professional, artistic, and her personality puts you at ease in the chair. On the day of my appointment, she allowed a friend to come along to watch. For me, having someone else there was especially comforting for my ‘first tattoo‘. April methodically measured my face and worked with me to design exactly what I wanted. The actual nanoblading procedure was fairly quick, and due to the topical numbing medication April used, it was minimally painful. She took before and after pictures during the appointment, and I was blown away by the difference! I walked out feeling confident and younger. The care and healing process was easy. I am frequently stopped by strangers commenting on how beautiful my eyebrows are and have passed along April’s name to many after they ask who was able to do such a natural look. I recommend April without hesitation!”
“Best Investment Ever!!!!! I wake up and don’t have to even touch my brows. No more threading/waxing for me!!! The only time I touch them is when straggly hairs that grow outside my brow shape have to be cleaned up. April was awesome and a true pro at what she does. She took the time to chat with me and explain everything that was going to happen and showed me the tools she’d be using. Of course, nano blading is a little different from micro and not very popular here in NC, so I was glad she explained the difference. April took the time to measure the length of my brows, I chose a shape I wanted and she did the rest. She constructed a perfect brow. I get compliments daily about how great my brows look, which look natural and full. We took family pictures and I did not add a thing to my brows, they were AMAZING! Do yourself a favor and get yours done, you won’t regret it!!”
Microblading vs Nanoblading
You’ll get a more effective result from nano needling as the procedure involves less trauma to the skin. With microblading, the pins used to create the blade shape for microblading are more rigid than the flexible and fine ones used for nano needling.
Nanoblading offers a more natural and crisp result, less risks of the pigment being implanted too deep, so it is more precise than microblading.
Price
Microblading is the least expensive option and is usually $100 – $200 less than nono needle brows. However, the results of a microblading procedure can last 12 – 18 months, the results of nano needling lasts longer – up to 3 years with touch-up sessions.
Nanoblading Procedure
Nanoblading is a two-step process: the initial procedure and a follow-up, perfecting session. You’ll schedule 2 sessions with your makeup technician which includes your consultation with the technician in the first session.
Prepare for your Nanoblading
To prepare for your treatment:
- Don’t wax or tweeze your eyebrows a week prior to treatment.
- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil supplements at least 24 hours prior to treatment.
- Don’t get a facial at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.
- Don’t sunbathe or tan the day of your procedure
- Don’t use retinol or Vitamin A
Post-Procedure Care
Eyebrow Nanoblading Tips:
- After the procedure, keep your eyebrows as dry as possible.
- Wipe your eyebrows daily with a damp cloth, and then apply moisturizing cream provided by your nanoblading artist.
- Avoid sweating, saunas, and hot baths for the first 7 days.
- Don’t wear makeup around your eyebrows for at least a week.
- Avoid tanning beds, light therapy, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels for 30 days afterwards.
Follow Up Session
Your return for a follow-up session about 8 weeks after the initial session at which time the technician will perfect the look. Additional strokes may be added, and the the shape of your brows may be tweaked. This is a perfecting session.
Healing Length for Nanoblading Eyebrows
It takes about 4 weeks for nanobladed eyebrows to heal. Initially, your brow color may be darker than expected. You may also have swelling, soreness, and redness.
The color will lighten as your eyebrows heal and new skin develops over the area. It will take 3-4 weeks for tattoo eyebrows to blend with your natural hair.
